Hey there!!
After spending a very formative summer in Australia learning from clinicians and policy makers about HIV/AIDS community health efforts in specialized populations, I’m so excited to join UCLA PAC's mission to fundraise for an AIDS-free world. HIV transmission is something that is entirely preventable, yet over 150 children are born with HIV every day due to stigma and lack of resources. 1 month of HIV treatment for a child only costs $12, and 1 year of HIV treatment for a mother to prevent vertical transmission only costs $70.
On March 7th, UCLA will take a literal stand against pediatric AIDS during PAC's annual 10 hour Dance Marathon. More importantly, we fight the stigma surrounding HIV through education, and support HIV-affected children and families worldwide by donating our proceeds to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (our global imapct), the UCLA AIDS Institute (our research impact), and the Laurel Foundation (our local impact).
