What is a Dance Marathon?

A dance marathon is a fun, high-energy event where participants commit to dancing for several hours. Before the event, dancers gather sponsors (friends, family, or local supporters) who pledge money to support a good cause! During the marathon, participants dance, play games, join challenges, and take part in community activities to keep the energy up. At the end, all the money raised goes to the chosen charity, so every step you take helps make a real difference.

Why is fundraising important for EGPAF?

Fundraising is crucial to our mission of ending pediatric HIV and AIDS. With your support, we can raise awareness, engage more people, and ultimately save lives. Your efforts help us fund essential research, provide life-saving treatments, and support prevention programs. Together, we can create a brighter, healthier future for children worldwide. 

Where do donations go?

Donations to EGPAF are unrestricted, allowing us to allocate funds to wherever the need is greatest. This flexibility ensures that we can respond quickly and effectively to the most urgent challenges in our mission to end pediatric HIV and AIDS. Your support helps fund vital programs that provide treatment, prevention, and support services to children and families affected by HIV and AIDS. 

Are donations to Dance Marathon tax deductible?

Yes! You'll receive an emailed tax receipt immediately after donating.

How can I stay updated on EGPAF’s work?

Follow us on social media, sign up for our newsletter, and visit our website regularly for updates. 

Registration

How do I create a team?

There are a couple ways to create a new team. During the registration process, you can join an existing team or create a new one. If you've already registered, log in to your page and click Dashboard, where you'll have the same options to join a team or create a new one.  

Keep in mind that the person who creates a team is automatically set as that team's captain. You can change this by visiting "My Team" after you've logged in. 

How do I join a team?

If you haven’t registered an account yet, click “Register” at the top of the page and choose the type of dancer you’d like to be. Then create an account, select the team you want to join, and voila! You are all set. Log in to your account to share your page with friends and family and start fundraising! 

I already registered, but now I want to join a team. Is it too late?

Not at all! Log in to your fundraising page, and then search for the team you want to join. You'll see a yellow "Join us" button at the top of the page. 

I want to fundraise, but don't know how!

Event and Promotion Support

Can EGPAF help me promote my event/fundraiser?

Yes! EGPAF can offer guidance on promotion strategies and may be able to help amplify your event through our networks. Please reach out for more details. 

Can EGPAF post to social media about my fundraiser?

We love to support our fundraisers! Please tag us @EGPAF. Although, with so many incredible events, we might not be able to promote them all, we would love to hear what you planned!

Submitting Funds

How can I submit funds collected offline?

We can accept checks made payable to Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. All checks can be mailed to:

Be sure to include the name of your event and let us know if you have a specific fundraising page or campaign name to which we can attribute the donation. 

What do I do with cash/check donations?

Log in to your fundraising page, and then choose "my donations" from the menu in the upper right. Click the "Add offline donation" button and follow the instructions.

Checks should be made payable to "Baldwin Wallace University". Please write "Dance Marathon" in the memo line. 

Checks/cash can be left in the Dance Marathon student life center mailbox. Please send an email to sfranks22@bw.edu if you leave checks/cash in the mailbox.

How do I find my friend's fundraising page?

Search for their name by clicking on the magnifying glass at the top of this page or visiting this link. After searching you can click on their name to take you to their public donation page.
