Fundraising for an AIDS-Free Generation

HEY HEY HEY!! 👋🏾

Welcome to my fundraising page! My name is Favour, and I’m so excited to be participating in UCLA’s Dance Marathon in support of ending pediatric HIV/AIDS.

As a Black student passionate about healthcare, this cause means a lot to me. My dream is to become a pediatric doctor and work with communities that don’t always get the care and resources they deserve. Being part of this movement reminds me why I want to go into medicine in the first place  to help children live healthy lives and to fight health inequities that impact marginalized communities.

What many people don’t know is that it only takes about $70 to prevent HIV transmission from a mother to her baby, yet over 150 babies are still born with HIV every day due to lack of resources, access to healthcare, and stigma. That’s why this work is so important.

At Dance Marathon, the UCLA community will stand for 10 hours to raise awareness and funds for children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. All the money raised goes toward organizations making real change, including:

• The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (global impact)

• The UCLA AIDS Institute (research impact)

• The Laurel Foundation (support for affected youth locally)

Through volunteering and community work, I’ve learned how powerful it is when people come together to support a cause bigger than themselves. Your donation doesn’t just support an event — it helps save lives, support families, and move us closer to an AIDS-free generation.
